Best Bets: Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Shaquille O’Neal and more for your Las Vegas weekend

Super Bowl 51 Halftime

It’s a double-dose of divadom this weekend on the Strip as two of the biggest female pop stars of all time are pulling out all the stops with huge concert productions at T-Mobile Arena and the Axis. Check out these and other outstanding music, comedy and party options coming to Vegas in the next few days.

LADY GAGA Gaga kicked off her “Joanne” World Tour August 1 in Vancouver before moving to Edmonton, the Tacoma Dome in Washington State and the Forum in Los Angeles for three shows. While it’s a massive show built for arenas (like our own T-Mobile, where she’ll play Friday night) with plenty of mind-blowing set pieces, the early word is the chameleonic singer is working in plenty of more intimate, tender moments during her performance, sitting down at the piano for ballads and some storytelling. If you miss her in Vegas now, get your tickets for her return in December. August 11, info at 702-692-1600 or axs.com.

FRANK CALIENDO If you’re in need of that final detail that gets you ready for football season, his name is Frank Caliendo, he’s known for his goofy impressions of Jon Gruden, Ron Jaworski, Mike Ditka and Chris Berman on “Fox NFL Pregame Sunday” and ESPN, and he takes the stage at the Orleans Showroom for two nights of comedy. Of course, it’s not all sports humor; Caliendo’s high-energy act has been compared to Robin Williams and Jim Carrey. There will be a little something funny for everyone. BRITNEY: PIECE OF ME Ms. Spears is back at Planet Hollywood’s Axis theater for another run of Wednesday, Friday and Saturday shows stretching all the way until Labor Day, and she’s created a new connection between Vegas and her home state of Louisiana. One dollar from every ticket to Britney’s show will go to the Louisiana School Boards Association, a nonprofit that works toward the goal of improving student performance. August 11 & 12 (and continuing through September 3), info at 702-777-2782 or caesars.com.

MIKE EPPS He’s going back to his stand-up comedy roots for a show at the Pearl at the Palms Saturday night, but Mike Epps is probably best known as the funniest guy in films like “Girls Trip,” “The Hangover,” “Guess Who” and “How High.” Next up, he’s playing Richard Pryor in a biopic and reprising his role as Day-Day in the “Last Friday” sequel. August 12, info at 702-944-3200 or palms.com.

DJ DIESEL aka SHAQUILLE O’NEAL If you’ve gone all summer long with making a trip to Rehab, Las Vegas’ original big-time pool party, this Sunday would be a great time to do it. It’s not every weekend that the headlining DJ is over seven feet tall and has four NBA Championship rings. August 13, info at 702-693-5555 or hardhotel.com.
