Governor makes appointments to state Athletic, Tourism commissions

CARSON CITY — Gov. Brian Sandoval has appointed a Las Vegas woman to the state Athletic Commission and named two former lieutenant governors to the Nevada Tourism Commission.

Sandra Douglas Morgan will replace Cisco Anguilar, whose term will expire in October, on the commission that regulates boxing.

Morgan has served as city attorney for North Las Vegas, director of external affairs for AT&T Nevada and as a litigation attorney for MGM Mirage.

The governor also appointed former lieutenant governors Brian Krolicki and Bob Cashell to the Tourism Commission.

Krolicki served two terms each as lieutenant governor and state treasurer and was chairman of the Tourism Commission.

Cashell served one term as lieutenant governor, 12 years as mayor of Reno, was on the board of regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education and has been a casino owner in Northern Nevada. He helped create the Tourism Commission.
