A 20-year-old day care worker was arrested today after she was caught on camera violently grabbing and tossing a 5-year-old child earlier this month, according to the Henderson Police Department.

Aleana Estepp was being held at the Henderson Detention Center on a count of felony child abuse, police said.

The child’s mother filed a police report on Aug. 11 and provided surveillance video showing the incident at K.I.D.S. Academy, 300 Horizon Drive, according to police.

The owner, Chrystal Blessing, said Estepp was fired immediately after she saw the video and that a letter was sent out to parents.

“We have done everything that we can to cooperate with police during their investigation,” Blessing said.
