A Coronado High School custodian was arrested Wednesday on multiple theft-related counts after an investigation into missing items at the campus, according to Clark County School District Police.

Betty Seward, 48, was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on seven felony and four misdemeanor counts, Lt. Darnell Couthen said.

She remained jailed this afternoon on $22,000 bail, jail records show.

Seward’s arrest stemmed from an investigation that began in late July into missing items while she was a custodian at the school, Couthen said.

Seward is facing two counts of burglary, three counts of grand larceny and two counts each of obtaining money or property under a false pretense, purchase or possession of stolen property, and petit larceny, jail logs show.

Further details about the investigation were not released.

Seward was hired by the School District in 2000 and has been “assigned to home” as the investigation continues, Couthen said.
