Las Vegas' new pro soccer team now has a name.

Fans of the United Soccer League expansion club selected the name "Las Vegas Lights FC" in an online poll that ended at midnight, and the name was revealed on the Fremont Street Experience LED Canopy.

The five other names under consideration were (in order of most popular to least) Las Vegas FC, Las Vegas Silver, Club Vegas, Viva Vegas and Las Vegas Action.

The poll, held from Aug. 11-28, received 10,371 votes.

Also voted on was whether the team would be referred to as “Las Vegas” or “Vegas,” and the city’s full name won in a landslide, 65 percent to 26 percent while nine percent voted they didn’t care.

Now the team is asking fans to help design the logo.

“Shields, badges, word marks, fonts, symbols, colors,” the team posted on their website. “You provide the rough draft rendering and we'll refine it as our official logo.
