Sports teams usually have many carryover players on their roster from one season to the next.
So, when jerseys numbers are issued, the new players to the organization get their pick of whatever is leftover. That, of course, is unless a new member of the team offers to pay a holdover player for his number.
But what happens when you have a brand new team? All numbers, apparently, are up for grabs.
The expansion Vegas Golden Knights today released numbers assigned to its players under contract for their inaugural season this fall.
