Pedestrian, 26, hit crossing Flamingo Road dies of his injuries

A pedestrian hit by a car last month while crossing Flamingo Road near the Silver Sevens casino has died from his injuries, according to Metro Police.

Police said the Clark County Coroner’s Office informed them today of the death of Jeffrey MacDonell, 26, of Las Vegas.

MacDonell was crossing the street about 6:40 p.m. Jan. 24 outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a car headed east on Flamingo, approaching Palos Verdes Street, police said. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the car, a 76-year-old Las Vegas man, remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, police said. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
