If the majority of people in the United States voted for Hillary Clinton to be their next president, then one might reasonably expect her to fill that office.
But here comes the Electoral College, pulling the rug out from under her and awarding the presidency to Donald Trump.
As I recall, the same thing happened to Al Gore some years ago.
Foreigners who have been following our election are incredulous. How, they ask, can a presidential hopeful win the popular vote (the people’s choice) and be denied the presidency?
The Electoral College has done enough damage, for heaven’s sake. Let’s get rid of it.
