Remember Clinton, improve elections

Our daughter was in a track meet, and her small school with only seven students was doing as well as larger schools that brought a busload. However, during the relay race, she had to dodge a hurdle that had been “accidently” left in her lane. My husband protested and was told she wouldn’t be disqualified for going out of her lane. Her team didn’t win, and that was final.

It was like that in this presidential race. Hillary Clinton didn’t lose, but the race is over. Like my daughter, she was robbed of victory. Clinton lost electoral votes because of Donald Trump-inspired Xenophobia (the inborn fear of anyone who isn’t like them), Russian hacking and FBI Director James Comey’s October Surprise. Now we’re told to “get over it”.

Trump’s actions must make China nervous when he demanded they return our drone — two days after they had returned it. Then he tweeted about adding more nuclear weapons. That’s crazy! He tweets at night, and his staff has to spend the next day “explaining” what he meant. Mitt Romney was right when he said Trump was a phony, a fraud and a con man.

You would think the Republicans would be more gracious about winning. Instead, they want us to forget about it. Well, it’s hard to forget about it when the best candidate won’t be president. That means there is work to be done by the Democrats so this doesn’t happen again.
