Centennial High School’s Savon Scarver is part of the Las Vegas Sun’s preseason all-city high school football team for the 2016 season.

Centennial’s Savon Scarver, considered one of the fastest high school football players in the Las Vegas area, verbally committed to Utah State today at the end of his official visit.

Scarver, who had 43 catches for 946 yards and eight touchdowns in 2016, joins Centennial teammate Jamaal Evans as a Utah State commit.

Rivals.com ranks the 6-foot, 190-pound Scarver as a three-star prospect. He had offers from many Mountain West schools, including Colorado State, Fresno State and Hawaii, according to Rivals.

Signing day is Feb. 1. Until then, verbal commitments are nonbinding and players can still be recruited by other schools.
