A man was killed in the southeast valley last night after he was shot while attempting to break up a fight, according to Metro Police.
The shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. in the 4800 block of Sacks Drive, near Tropicana Avenue and Boulder Highway.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds, according to police. The victim was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police said there was a fight outside the residence between several women, and the victim came outside to help a family member who was involved in the fight. A man, who was already outside, fired multiple shots from a handgun at the victim.
The suspect and several others involved in the fight left the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived.
There were no arrests made, but police believe the victim’s family knows the suspect.
