The Centennial High girls basketball team earned its biggest win of the season and staked its claim as one of the best teams in the nation on Monday.

The Bulldogs, ranked No. 4 nationally by USA Today, avenged a loss from December with an emphatic 70-46 blowout victory over No. 2 Clovis West High from California in the St. Mary’s Showcase in Stockton.

Melanie Isbell led Centennial with 17 points.

Centennial previously lost to Clovis West in the Nike Tournament of Champions on Dec. 20 in Phoenix.

The Bulldogs also knocked off the host school No. 19 St. Mary’s High on Saturday, finishing the St. Mary’s Showcase with a 2-0 record.

The two impressive wins wrap up out-of-state play for Centennial. The Bulldogs are undefeated in Nevada and have six league games remaining in the regular season as they try for their third straight Nevada state championship.
