Gunman with white boots sought in northeast-valley bar killing

Police say they're hoping some of the 30 or more people who were in a northeast valley bar at the time will help identify a gunman who killed a 24-year-old man and wounded a waitress during the weekend.

Metro Police Lt. Jack Clements said Monday the same man is believed to be responsible for several recent armed robberies at nearby businesses, including three in which shots were fired but no one was injured.

The gunman was described as being in his late 20s, wearing white cowboy boots and prescription eyeglasses.

The Clark County coroner says Alberto Sanchez-Delatorre died of chest wounds after the 7 a.m. Saturday shooting at the El Corral bar on Nellis Boulevard near Owens Avenue.

Police say the waitress was wounded in the thigh. She's expected to recover.
