A homicide suspect was captured Thursday night after a manhunt in the east valley near Charleston Boulevard and Sloan Lane, according to Metro Police.
The 24-year-old Joel Nunoz, who was considered armed and dangerous, was taken into custody about 9 p.m.
Court documents show that an arrest warrant for Nunoz was issued Thursday. He was wanted on one count each of murder, armed burglary, battery with a deadly weapon and illegal gun possession.
Officers were dispatched about 4:30 p.m. to the area near Charleston and Tree Line Drive and a perimeter was established, police said. Iverson and Goldfarb elementary schools were placed on lockdown, but parents were able to pick up their children.
