Police release video of car sought in fatal shooting investigation

Metro Police released surveillance video today of a car sought in connection with the death of a man they say was shot last month after confronting a group of graffiti taggers.

Officers were dispatched about 6:35 p.m. on Dec. 27 to the 4900 block of Duneville Street to investigate reports of gunshots and found a wounded man, police said. He was taken to University Medical Center and pronounced dead.

Police said Richard Ares, 18, confronted several males who were tagging a wall near an apartment complex. A short time later, an older, black Honda Civic drove toward Ares, and shots were fired from the vehicle, according to police.
