The drug ecstasy and the heat contributed to the death of a 34-year-old California man who was attending the Electric Daisy Carnival last month, the Clark County Coroner’s Office said today.

The death of Adam Morse ruled an accident, officials said. A toxicology report determined he had MDMA, also known as ecstasy, and TFMPP, also known as “Legal X, in his system, officials said.

“A few of the many adverse effects of the drug ecstasy is increased body temperature and dehydration, which when combined with hot weather creates a potentially deadly situation,” Coroner John Fudenberg said in a statement.

Morse died at 7:41 a.m. on June 17 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway after the end of the first of three days of the overnight electronic music festival.

Seven EDC attendees have died in Clark County since 2011.
