County says no smoking weed in tour buses, limos

Clark County officials issued a reminder today that using marijuana in vehicles is illegal, after getting reports of people trying to rent tour buses and limousines for weed excursions.

“It is not only illegal to consume marijuana in a moving vehicle. It is illegal to consume marijuana in a public right of way,” the county said in a news release. It’s also against the law to use the drug in casinos or at the Las Vegas airport.

Breaking the law is a misdemeanor that carries a fine of up to $600.

If a business is found to be out of compliance, the Nevada Transportation Authority also will take action against the license holder, officials said.

Recreational marijuana became legal July 1, but it can only be used at private homes.
