A fight involving a group of homeless people near Maryland Parkway and Flamingo Road left a man dead and another in custody Friday afternoon, according to Metro Police.
Officers were dispatched about 1:35 p.m. to the 1300 block of Flamingo, near Maryland Parkway, and found a man suffering from at least one stab wound, Metro Lt. Carlos Hank said. He died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.
An initial investigation determined that there was “an altercation between an unknown number of homeless subjects” when one of them stabbed the man, Hank said.
Police arrested Aaron Park, 39, who they deem to be the suspect, Hank said. “Detectives credit the quick response of the Metro patrol units in the area for the apprehension of the suspect.”
