Police: Motorcyclist runs red light, dies after crash

A motorcyclist died after he ran a red light Thursday night and crashed into a car making a left turn on a road west of the Las Vegas Strip, according to Metro Police.

The wreck happened about 11:30 p.m. at Dean Martin Drive and Jerry Lewis Way. The motorcycle was south on Dean Martin when he ran the light and crashed into a car that was turning left from Jerry Lewis on a solid green arrow, police said.

The motorcyclist, a 25-year-old Las Vegas man, was taken to University Medical Center, where he died, police said. His name has not been released, pending notification of his family.

The woman driving the car suffered minor injuries, police said. Upon impact, the car spun into another vehicle, but nobody else was hurt, police said.
