Letters to the Editor:

So what went wrong?

Donald Trump just can’t understand what’s gone wrong with his plans. He won the election, expecting everyone would do as he wanted, and it’s harder than he anticipated. As Trump said about healthcare, who knew it could be this complicated? Trump got to pick his administration staff and his Cabinet. He got to sign his wish list of proclamations with his big signature while people stood around clapping. He could write on Twitter as much as he wanted, he could hold rallies and tell everyone how he won the election while soaking up the applause.

Then reality slowly crept in. His policies could be written on a cocktail napkin as that is all he knows about his policies. Then he found out Congress had a lot to say about his wishes and about how they could or could not be administered. How come everyone just didn’t get started doing his bidding? What’s with all this voting and approvals of what he wants? Can’t Congress just do what he wants? He doesn’t understand or care to learn this politics thing.

It’s not hard to understand considering his upbringing. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, went to a private military school (which was a lot better than the draft) and graduated from Wharton Business School. He got started in business with a big loan from his dad.

Then he learned in real estate how to get things built, how to stiff banks, stockholders, contractors, building trades, lawyers and his employees alike.

Then he learned how to go bankrupt, while stealing all the money out of his projects and leaving everyone else broke. He learned how to get away with not paying taxes, how to organize charities in his name while using that donated money for himself. He started Trump University, cheating students. He started a reality television show that showed him firing people. What a gig. He learned how to borrow money, sometimes not paying it back. He hired lawyers to protect himself, sometimes stiffing them as well.

Finally he picked politics as his next reality career. He went big, won the presidency and now is bewildered why everyone won’t do his bidding. After all, isn’t he the king and aren’t we are all peasants? What went wrong?
