Car parts caught fire outside of an east valley car dealership today, sending a large column of black smoke skyward, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski said.
The fire was reported about 2:30 p.m. outside the Fletcher Jones Imports Mercedes-Benz dealership on Sahara Avenue, near Tenaya Way.
Boxes and car parts were on fire when firefighters arrived, but little to no damage was done to the building, Szymanski said.
Because of the heavy smoke, 911 operators received numerous calls, he said. The fire was extinguished in a couple of minutes with no injuries, he said.
