Motorcycles crash near Lake Mead, killing 2

Two motorcyclists are dead after a crash at Lake Mead National Recreation Area this afternoon, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Troopers and medical crews were called about 12:45 p.m. to mile marker 31 on State Route 167, also known as North Shore Road, officials said. The area is a few miles from the Redstone Trail.

The crash, which involved two male riders, happened off-road and involved Harley-Davidson and Honda motorcycles, officials said. One of the riders died at the scene and the other at University Medical Center, where he was flown.

No roads have been closed. Further details were not immediately available.
