A box truck carrying chemicals overturned this morning, blocking traffic for more than four hours on Cheyenne Avenue between Fort Apache Road and Hualapai Way, authorities said.

The accident, which happend about 8:45 a.m., resulted in a minor chemical spill, and it appeared some fuel may have leaked onto the road, Metro Police said.

A Las Vegas Fire & Rescue hazardous materials team was on scene, but officials said the situation was under control. No injuries were reported, the fire department said.

Crews were wrapping up the chemical spill about 1 p.m. and were then going to clear debris from the wreck, Metro Officer Larry Hadfield said. The single-vehicle wreck remained under investigation, he said.
