Man shot and killed at Las Vegas homeless camp

A man was shot and killed at an east valley homeless camp Thursday night, and detectives were left searching for the gunman, who was seen riding a white BMX-style bicycle, according to Metro Police.

The shooting was reported about 8:20 p.m. by the wash near east Owens Avenue and Stevens Street, east of Pecos Road, police said today. Officers found the man’s body with multiple gunshot wounds.

An initial investigation determined that gunfire followed a dispute between the victim and the suspect, police said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man who stands about 5 feet, 7 inches and weighs about 140 pounds. He was seen riding a white bike, police said.

He was further described as being clean shaven and wearing his dark hair slicked back. He wore a black-and-white striped shirt and blue jeans.
