Pedestrian death on Interstate 15 shuts down traffic at Flamingo

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle, which prompted troopers to shut down northbound Interstate 15 at Flamingo Road Tuesday night, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported near the Sahara Avenue exit about 9:20 p.m., according to NHP and the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada. All lanes were closed.

NHP said in a tweet that the pedestrian, who was hit by a Jeep, died at the scene.

The highway remained shut down about 11 p.m.
