Here are more climate facts

To a recent article headlined “Climate scientists aghast at Trump’s actions,” I’d add the following:

1. Population is expected to increase by more than 50 percent between now and 2100. Nothing humanity can do will offset the increase in greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere by that increase in population. Therefore, the emission of greenhouse gases in the year 2100 will be greater than they are today.

2. Global population warming will cause the oceans to rise, flooding major cities along with many areas presently used to grow food. This flooding will cause migration in the hundreds of millions and the deaths of millions.

3. The emission of greenhouse gases is symptomatic of the inability of the earth to absorb the waste products of the ever-growing industrialized society and ever-growing human population.

4. The overwhelming scientific consensus is that global warming is real and is being caused by human activity.

5. The Trump administration, in its destruction of the EPA, is not relying on reputable scientists. More important, the Trump administration has failed to even consider the scientific evidence that indicates that if global warming is not controlled there will be massive death and destruction in the very near future.
