The television home of the Vegas Golden Knights will be Root Sports, the team announced Tuesday morning.

The regional sports network, owned by AT&T U-verse and DirecTV, is available on Dish Network (channel 414) and DirecTV (channel 683) with sports packages and will carry Golden Knights games in the Las Vegas area.

Root is not now available from cable operator Cox Communications or CenturyLink’s Prism TV service in Las Vegas.

“Cox provides news, sports and entertainment content that appeals to a wide range of audiences. At this time, we have not been contacted by Root Sports, but we review new additions to our channel lineup on an ongoing basis,” the company said in a statement.

Root Sports will broadcast all 82 regular season games live, minus any games that are chosen to be part of the national broadcast schedule on NBC or NBC Sports. There will also be additional hockey-related programming, including pregame and postgame shows.

In a statement, team owner Bill Foley called the deal with Root “a landmark agreement for our organization, Golden Knights fans in Nevada and Golden Knights fans all across the Rocky Mountain region.”

Golden Knights games will also be aired on Root in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah and select areas of Arizona and California.

“My primary goal is to make the Golden Knights the team of the Rockies,” Foley said in an interview with ESPN 1100 in April.

AT&T Sports Networks President Patrick Crumb said, “We are thrilled to work with the Vegas Golden Knights and bring the excitement of Golden Knights hockey into the homes of Las Vegans, Nevadans and hockey fans throughout the Rockies. Working with a sports team from its inception is an incredible opportunity and we welcome the responsibilities and challenges that come along with it.”

The team recently announced its radio home would be Lotus broadcasting, with games airing on Fox Sports 1340-AM.
