Firefighters contain 1-acre brush fire at Sunset Park

Fire crews have contained a 1-acre brush fire at Sunset Park, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The incident was reported about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the park, 2601 Sunset Road, Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Buchanan said. Arriving firefighters requested four additional fire engines to help in the effort.

By about 7:30 p.m., the fire was contained and mostly extinguished, although crews were still working on scene, Buchanan said.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, and damages have not been estimated.
