To show their appreciation for how Southern Nevada rallied to support victims after the mass shooting, community members demonstrated on the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday.

Organized by Culinary Workers Union Local 226, the walk began at Caesars Palace and concluded at the Statue of Liberty outside of New York-New York. The group gathered in a show of strength to hold prayer and continue the healing process.

They noted how Las Vegans lined up for hours to give blood, brought food and water to those in need and created healing spaces.

“Nevada is a place where working men and women have a real opportunity to provide for their families and achieve the American Dream,” said Geoconda Argüello-Kline, secretary-treasurer for the Culinary Union. “Nevada is our home, we are Vegas Strong, and we will not live in fear. Workers serve our country and our community every day, and we stand united and together, today and always.”
