Board approves $64 million road project in Clark County

CARSON CITY — The state Transportation Board today approved a $64.6 million project to widen and improve U.S. 95, build an interchange and perform flood-control work.

John Terry, assistant director of the state Transportation Department, said it is the largest contract of the year for the agency.

Las Vegas Paving Corp. submitted the lowest of three bids for the widening to six lanes 5.9 miles on U.S. 95, from Ann Road to Kyle Canyon Road, where an interchange will be built. The state had estimated the project would cost $69.1 million.
