Letters to the Editor:

Whom will Trump believe?

Donald Trump has made it clear that he believes Vladimir Putin over our own intelligence agencies when Putin says he didn’t interfere with the 2016 presidential election.

Trump has to be the most gullible person on earth to side with Putin and believe that Russia did not in any way interfere.

Remember, Russia is a proven adversary of the U.S., and would like us to be gone. We all have to wonder if Putin controls Trump’s ear and has him believing that our own intelligence agencies are the liars and not Russia.

Imagine this scenario: Putin decides to attack the U.S. with missiles, and Trump calls Putin on the hot line and says our intelligence agencies have informed him that Russian missiles are headed to the U.S. mainland.

But Putin convinces Trump not to believe these same intelligence agencies, reminding him that these are same intelligence agencies that tried to say that Putin and Russia interfered in our 2016 presidential election. Trump comments back to Putin, “Yeah, that was fake news.”

The call ends with Trump saying, “I believe you.”
