On Dec. 11 last year, the Sun published an editorial, titled “High-capacity magazine ban a must for Nevadans’ safety,” which called for a ban on the sale of high-capacity magazines in Nevada. It observed: “There’s simply no legitimate civilian use for magazines that hold dozens upon dozens of rounds of ammunition.”
Your editorial has turned out to be tragically prescient. A ban on high-capacity magazines might not have prevented this horrifying shooting. However, it may well have saved dozens of lives and spared hundreds more from life-destroying injuries.
