Elderly man sought in northwest valley bank robbery

An armed elderly man accused of robbing a northwest valley bank Saturday morning is being sought by authorities, according to Metro Police.

Officers were called about 9:30 a.m. to a Chase Bank branch in the 7000 block of North Durango Drive, south of Elkhorn Road, Metro Lt. Patricia Cervantes said.

The suspect, described as being a white man between 65 and 70 years old, threatened a teller with a gun and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. He was last seen in a gold-colored, 200s model Dodge Caravan, police said.

The man stands about 6 feet tall and weighs about 160 pounds, police said. He has short hair, gray facial hair, and wore prescription glasses, a dark-colored fedora hat, a dark-colored jacket with a blue hood, a blue shirt and light-colored pants.
