Four people, including two elementary school students, were hospitalized this afternoon after a sedan crashed into a Clark County School District bus in the northwest valley.
Police responded to the intersection of West Alexander Road and North Jensen Street about 12 p.m. to find the bus on its side, Metro spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said. Its three passengers — two students and the driver — were taken to University Medical Center with minor injuries. The bus, which seats 32 passengers at capacity, was coming from Garehim Elementary School.
A person driving a while Chevy Malibu was also taken to a local hospital with injuries, though neither police nor CCSD officials immediately knew which hospital or the extent of the driver's injuries.
The crash closed the intersection, located near Grand Canyon Drive and West Craig Road, backing up traffic. As of 3 p.m., all roads had reopened.
Officials said the cause of the accident is under investigation.
