Las Vegas Sun's Ray Brewer and Case Keefer toast all the area teams who defeated out of state competition in week 1, and look forward to an almost-as-loaded week 2 schedule.

The Clark Chargers came away with the most surprising upset of the young season Friday night, dominating defending Sunrise League champs Virgin Valley from start to finish.

Clark’s senior running back Aquantay Morris ran for 140 yards and two touchdowns, and caught four passes for 95 yards and a pair of scores to lead the Chargers to a 49-26 win at home.

Clark jumped out to a 14-0 lead behind touchdown passes from Justin Aguilar to Morris and never looked back.

Aguilar threw for more than 200 yards and four touchdowns.

“It was everybody,” Clark coach Ricky Pickens said. “From the defense, to the offense and the whole momentum of the game.”
