A person was arrested today after stealing an ambulance on the Las Vegas Strip and leading police on a chase on Interstate 15 toward California, according to Metro Police.
The Clark County Fire Department vehicle was taken near the Monte Carlo while emergency personnel were away assisting someone, officials said.
The ambulance was tracked south on I-15, where police arrested one person near the Nevada-California border, police said.
Metro Police officers and Nevada Highway Patrol troopers followed the ambulance, which was also being tracked from the air by a police helicopter, officials said.
