Bishop Gorman’s Jamal Bey, who is arguably Nevada’s most decorated basketball recruit for the class of 2018, verbally committed today to Washington. Gorman announcement the commitment on its Twitter page.

The small forward had scholarship offers from the likes of Gonzaga, USC and UNLV. He’s considered a three-star recruit.

He scored 17 points per game last season for Gorman, which won the large-school state championship.

Bey became a top target for Washington when Dave Rice, the former UNLV coach, joined the Huskies staff in the spring. Rice’s brother, Grant, is the Gorman coach.

Others from 2018 who are verbally included include Trey Woodbury (UNLV) and Maka Ellis (Columbia).
