A disgruntled Strip casino dealer showed up at a picnic organized by coworkers Sunday at a south valley park and opened fire, killing a woman and critically injuring a man, according to Metro Police.

The suspect, Anthony Wrobel, 42, a Venetian employee for about 15 years, was still at large Monday afternoon, authorities said. His car was located at McCarran International Airport on Sunday night, Lt. Ray Spencer said.

Shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, Wrobel walked up to a table of hotel executives at Sunset Park, 3601 E. Sunset Road, pulled out a gun and opened fire from close range, police said.

A woman in her 50s was killed and a man, also is his 50s, was wounded, police said. One of the victims was a hotel executive, police said.

The victims were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where the woman died and the man remained in critical condition Monday.

Investigators classified the shooting as an act of workplace violence, and the victims appeared to have been targeted, police said.

Wrobel does not appear to have a criminal history in Clark County, based on a search of court records.

Wrobel is about 5 feet 9 inches tall 200 pounds, police said.

The victims have not been publicly identified. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the woman who died after the family has been notified.
