Police: Shooting of teens may have been gang-related

A weekend shooting that left a 16-year-old girl dead and another teen in critical condition may have been gang-related, Metro Police said.

The shooting was reported about 9:50 p.m. Friday in the area of Dramatic Way and Grand Sierra in the northwest valley. Officers found a male and a female suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.

The 16-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene and the other teen was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, police said. The girl, Justice Allen, 16, of North Las Vegas died of a gunshot wound to the chest, the Clark County Coroner’s Office said.

According to police, a group of young adults and teens were walking down the street and noticed a car following them. Two people got out of the car and started shooting down the street, hitting the victims, police said.

The car fled and has not been located, police said. No suspects have been identified, but the shooting may have been gang-related, police said.
