1st game at new Las Vegas Ballpark set for April 9

Las Vegas’ minor league baseball team has set a date for the first game in its new Las Vegas Ballpark in Downtown Summerlin.

The team will christen the $150 million ballpark — under construction on Pavilion Center Drive near Charleston Boulevard — on April 9 against the Sacramento River Cats.

By then the Las Vegas 51s will have a new team name and MLB affiliation. They will open up the 2019 home slate with a seven-game homestand against Sacramento (April 9-11) and the Fresno Grizzlies (April 12-15).

There will be 70 home games next season, and fans can reserve season tickets by clicking here and making a deposit of $100 per seat.
