Man dies after fight; roommate arrested on murder count

A man was arrested on a count of murder after getting into a fight with a roommate, who was unresponsive after the altercation and couldn’t be revived, police said.

Officers were dispatched about 5:20 p.m. to an apartment in the 1700 block of Stewart Avenue to investigate a report of a man who was unconscious and not breathing, police said. The officers tried to render aid, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The victim lived at the apartment with two other adults and a juvenile, police said. On Friday morning, he got into a fight with roommate Seth Alfredson, 38, police said.

The victim was unresponsive after the fight and later in the day, when the roommates weren’t able to revive him, they called for help, police said.

Alfredson was arrested and taken to the Clark County Detention Center.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name, as well as the cause and manner of death, officials said.
