The Nevada Department of Transportation is installing Active Traffic Management signs as part of Project Neon, as shown in this rendering.

A portion of northbound Interstate 15 in the resort corridor will shutter to traffic overnight Wednesday.

The closure will occur between Spring Mountain Road and Sahara Avenue on I-15 from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 5 a.m. Thursday to install active traffic management signs as part of the almost $1 billion Project Neon.

The Spring Mountain Road ramp will be closed in both directions. The Flamingo on-ramp to the interstate will be closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday.

The signs allow for messaging to provide real-time information to motorists on detours, crashes, and traffic restrictions. The signs will display the status of each lane, allowing motorist to avoid the affected lanes ahead of arriving at the area.

Upon completion of Project Neon, the signs will stretch from the Spaghetti Bowl to Silverado Ranch Boulevard.

Project Neon is 76 percent finished and slated for completion next summer.
