The article July 31 article concerning the “$100 billion rail line” under construction in California misses the main intent of this project.
The reason for these expenditures is not to produce a useful, meaningful transportation system. It’s to loot the treasury, whether state or federal, with no regard for the final utility of the never-to-be-completed system.
There isn’t even an attempt to create the illusion that this is a good idea.
