Andre Nevarez passed for four touchdowns and about 400 yards tonight for the Del Sol High football team in a 36-0 win against visiting Sunrise Mountain.
One week after suffering a lopsided defeated to Desert Oasis in the season opener, the Dragons played like the team coach Mike Valenzuela expected in the preseason.
“We knew we were much better than last Friday,” Valenzuela said. “Our kids couldn’t wait to get on the field.”
Maalik Flowers had a pair of touchdown receptions, while Markell Turner and Damani Wilks also caught touchdowns. Treshun Alexander added a 7-yard touchdown run.
“The offensive output is what we expected. The defense wanted to prove a point,” Valenzuela said.
