Members of the Faith Lutheran High football team pose for a photo at the Las Vegas Sun’s high school football media day Tuesday July 31, 2018 at the Red Rock Resort and Casino. They include, from left, Keagan Touchstone, Taimani McKenzie, Ma’a Gaoteote, Hunter Kaupiko, Nate Meredith, David “DJ” Heckard and Sagan Gronauer.

Keagan Touchstone had a 78-yard interception return for a touchdown tonight in the Faith Lutheran High football team’s 42-28 victory against visiting Bakersfield Christian.

For the senior Touchstone, it was his 12th career interception to establish a new school record. Greg Oliver also had an interception return for a touchdown for the Crusaders to help them score 35 unanswered points to open the game.

The outcome was an improvement from last week when the Crusaders were shut out.

“At the end of the day, wins don’t come easy,” Faith Lutheran coach Vernon Fox said. “We appreciate anytime we get can one.”

Sagan Gronauer completed 16 of 26 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns — each to Peyton Thornton. Gronauer also rushed for two scores.
