It finally happened. International superstar and Caesars Palace headliner Celine Dion ventured out to the big white tent in front of her Las Vegas Strip home base to witness “Absinthe” last week, including a trip backstage after the raucous show for a photo op. “I’ve been wearing this T-shirt underneath my suit for over 4,000 shows waiting for this moment,” Instagrammed The Gazillionaire with his Celine selfie.

On Saturday night, Tao Nightclub at the Venetian was the place to see some star athletes partying on the Vegas Strip. The New York Yankees’ CC Sabathia, the St. Louis Cardinals’ Dexter Fowler, the Los Angeles Angels’ Chris Young and five-time NBA champion Ron Harper, who won his rings with the Bulls and the Lakers, were all in the house while DJ Politik provided a party-ready soundtrack.

Public Enemy rapper, reality TV sensation and Vegas regular Flavor Flav dropped into the Paris Theater Sunday night to catch “Salt-N-Pepa’s I Love the ’90s: The Vegas Show” and was pretty easy to spot in the front row, at least for hip-hop duo Kid ‘n Play, who gave Flav a shout-out from the stage. After the show, he visited with friends Salt-N-Pepa and Mark McGrath backstage. The new musical residency at Paris presented its final performance of 2018 Monday night and will resume January 17.

Speaking of popular musical residencies on the Strip: Two such shows have just announced new dates in 2019. Gwen Stefani, who launched her “Just A Girl” production at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood this year, extended her run into the fall of 2019 with 21 new shows in July, October and November. She’s back on the Vegas stage December 27-31. And country favorites Reba McEntire, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn, who have been collaborating at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace since June of 2015, recently added six shows to next year’s concert calendar in June and July. “Reba, Brooks & Dunn: Together in Vegas” returns to the Colosseum this week for shows on December 5, 7, 8, 12, 14 and 15.
