A theft at a Las Vegas Valley magnet school prompted the Clark County School District Police Department to arrest one of their own.

Sgt. Robert J. Griffin, 56, is accused of stealing “items” from West Career and Technical Academy, 11945 W. Charleston Blvd., acting-Capt. Roberto Morales said.

Staff there reported the missing property on Monday, and school police detectives arrested Griffin two days later, Morales said. Information on what he allegedly stole was not immediately available.

Griffin is being held without bond on two counts of burglary, Clark County Detention Center logs show.

Griffin, who’s been with the agency for 12 years, was suspended without pay while the investigation is ongoing, Morales said.
