Las Vegas Fire and Rescue says a firefighter and another person were injured during a fire at a shuttered downtown motel early Saturday morning.
The department says a firefighter suffered a shoulder injury while fighting the fire and that a person who was a squatter staying in the boarded-up building was injured after jumping from a second-story window to the sidewalk below.
A second alarm to summon additional fire units was called after police were told by squatters who left the building that additional people might still be inside, but a search found only other person and that person wasn't injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
