Helicopter rescues injured skier south of Lake Tahoe

California sheriff's deputies and a helicopter helped rescue an injured skier in a remote mountain area south of Lake Tahoe over the weekend.

KTVN-TV in Reno reports El Dorado County deputies requested a helicopter from the California Highway Patrol after the unidentified skier fell more than 200 feet down some rocks along the north side of Mount Tallac near Fallen Leaf Lake on Sunday.

The H-20 helicopter flew him to the Taylor Creek Snow Park where he was then transported by an air ambulance to a Reno hospital where his condition was not immediately known.
