LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Nevada land is being wasted

Why is it that when someone or some company comes up with a good idea about renewable energy, the people around the area where the project is proposed agree that it’s a worthwhile project, as long as it’s not in their backyard, where they can see it?

We are all looking for cheaper electric bills, and this is the way to get them. Across the country, you can see huge wind farms producing cheap electricity, especially in Texas.

But as usual, our state, which has thousands of acres of land that could be used for this purpose, lets the land just sit idle rather than put it to productive use as wind farms.

Do you think that maybe it is our own local power companies getting people to block such projects, so they can keep their rates higher?
